It's always a blessing and fulfillment to take part in the 5th Sunday services at Morris Baptist Church. Morning services were held and then dinner. After dinner we always have an evening singing. Aaron Morton and I joined in the wonderful fellowship. Hazel Hendrix and another family member from Camden will be making a trip to Chickamauga, Ga., Monday morning. She will be attending funeral services for her sister. Prayers and thoughts also goes out to this family. Jimmy and Julia Taylor from Lonoke visited with Ruth Thompson, David and Patricia Kirkham on Saturday. I talked with Annie Lee Cornelius Sunday evening. She will be going back to her doctor for further check-ups. Her last visit was not what she wanted to hear. Annie Lee, you are in our prayers. Sunday afternoon Olen and Vernell Loe from Bluff City visited our community. They stopped in to see Karen Cobb and Annie Lee. Wilma Compton and Linda Gourley also visited with Annie Lee. Randy and Maggie Hopkins went to Sherman, Texas, Monday to visit with his step-dad, Tim McKinney. Tom Cornelius went to Magnolia Saturday morning to watch his son, John, play football. Funeral services for Claude Head was held Sunday afternoon at Missionary Grove. Prayers go out to this family. Sunday John Henry Collins and Henry Stuart visited with Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Stuart, who live at Crossett. Joe and Doris Burke had all there children home for Easter. Sorry I missed having it printed last week. Charles Wingfield, who lived in Texas, passed away. I was told that he had a lot of relatives in the Nubbin Hill area. He was born and and raised here. He passed away Friday and the funeral services were in Texas. Remember this family in your prayers. Mrs. Ruby Fontaine went with her brother, Henry Stuart, to Texarkana to see his doctor. He got a very good report. This week's news: I apologize to all the readers for not having news the past two weeks. Hope all you mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day. Ruby Fontaine had a very special Mother's Day. She received a call from her grandson, Nick Collins, telling her that she was a great grandma. Nick and his wife had a little girl last week. Larry and Janie Morrow would like to say Hi' to Greg and Jennifer who are stationed in Germany. They read the news on the Internet. There are a lot of trees down around our area. Some were lucky not to have them fall on their house. So glad everyone was okay. Davey and Christy Jones, Kim Overton and Al Formby spent Sunday afternoon fishing. They caught several bass. Tera Cornelius was honored with a baby shower Saturday evening. Her mother-in-law, Jimmy Cornelius, Donna Carter and Marcia Jo Ridling and myself managed to get all the preparations done even though we were out of electricity earlier that day. Tom Cornelius has turned 50 years old. We had a wonderful time Saturday evening. Jimmie and Jack Cornelius, Donna Carter, Bill Martin, Brandon Tullis, Megan Reader, Jake and Tera Cornelius, Tom and I met out at the Fish Nest to celebrate. Aaron Morton spent Friday and Saturday night with his dad, Mike Morton, who lives in McCaskill. There are several children in our area that will be graduating from Headstart Tuesday, May 23. We wish Blake Hopkins, Brenden Peters and Cassidy Steed the best of luck. Sunday Maxine and J.W. Glass had a house full for Mother's Day. Hoyt, Karen, Jason and Sarah Jobe, Liz Nunn, Shauntelle Bennett and Payton, Tracy and Marcia Bennett, Kevin, Pam, Clancy and Hannah Cleveland, Pat, Tim and Leah McCullough, Steve, Deb and Cody Jackson, Tony Overton, Aaron Morton, Tom and myself.
