Dr. Teague Attends Meeting In Hot Springs

Dr. Audie Teague attended the 94th annual education meeting of the Arkansas Optometric Association held recently in Little Rock. The convention is held each year to provide continuing education for doctors of optometry and to conduct association business.

Dr. Creighton Simmons of Benton was elected president of the association. Dr. Simmons is in private practice in Benton.

Other officers elected were Dr. Jeffrey Smith of Crossett, president-elect; Dr. Scott Seller of Hot Springs, vice president; Dr. Kenny Wyatt of Mountain View, secretary-treasurer; and Dr. Stefan Calloway of Stuttgart, Dr. Darren Brodie of Rogers and Dr. Larry Adams of Morrilton as directors.

Dr. Scott Sellers of Hot Springs and Lynn Wyatt of Mountain View were honored with Special Service Awards. Dr. Kenny Wyatt of Mountain View was honored as optometrist of the year. Dr. Dale Ladd of Batesville was honored as the young O.D. of the tear.

A 50-year membership award honored Dr. Henry Watson of Paragould.

40-year membership awards were given to Dr. Bill Simmons of Benton and Dr. Howard Flippin of Searcy.

The Arkansas affiliate-American Foundation for Vision Awareness also met during the annual meeting. Newly elected officers of the affiliate were Trisha Morris of Forrest City, president; Shirley Liles of Mena, secretary; Cathy Calloway of Stuttgart, loan/scholarship trustee; and Allyson Simmons of Benton, historian.
