Three Curley Wolves Named To All-DistrictBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, May 17, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Three members of the Prescott Curley Wolf baseball team were named All-District in the 7AAA conference. These players were voted on by those coaches in the 7AAA district. Gabe Morman, senior infielder, tied for second on the team with 15 hits. He was also second at the plate with a .341 average, while scoring 11 runs. This put him third on the squad for runs scored. Morman smacked three doubles, tying him for third in this category, had one homer, for second place, four extra base hits, tying him for third, walked 15 times, tied for first, and drove in 14, for second in RBIs. He also had an on base percentage of .583, good for second place. Ronnie Nolen, also a senior infielder, made the All-District team. His efforts on the field included 13 hits, for third place on the team, a .265 batting average, for fifth place, scored 10 runs, fourth place, had five doubles, putting him first in this category, and five extra base hits, for second place. Nolen also walked 10 times, for second place, had 10 RBIs, tying him for third, and had an on base percentage of .476. The third member of the team to be named All District was junior catcher/pitcher Josh Bullock. According to Prescott Coach Steve Crow, Bullock is only the third junior in the last decade to make first team All-District from Prescott. Bullock led the team in most offensive categories including: hits, with 19, batting average, .365, runs scored, 17, home runs, 2, extra base hits, 6, RBIs, 15, and wins, 4. Bullock was second on the team in doubles with four, walked four times and had a .508 on base percentage, good for third place. He is expected to return and play baseball again in his senior year, providing leadership to what will be another young team for the Wolves.
