College News - Joey ChristopherPublished Wednesday, May 17, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneWilliam Joseph (Joey) Christopher, a senior at Prescott High School, has been awarded an Arkansas Student Grant, Pell Grant and an Arkansas academic challenge scholarship. He has also been accepted to the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope on a two-year program. He then plans to attend Henderson State University for the last two years. Christopher is the son of Rev. Billy Joe and Linda Christopher of Prescott. Rev. Christopher is pastor at Boughton Baptist Church. Joey has a 3.3 grade point average. He is a certified Laubach tutor for Prescott Literacy Program, who teaches children to read, write and speak English. Christopher plans to receive a degree in elementary education.
