Two Are Injured In Shooting On Section Line RoadBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, May 17, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune A former Prescott High School athlete was involved in a shooting incident Thursday afternoon. According to Prescott Police Chief Sam Reeder, the Prescott Police Department got a call about a shooting around 5:45 p.m. on Section Line Ave. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle with several bullet holes and two people inside injured. One of these was Cedric "C.D." Flemons, 21, of Prescott, and the other was Derrick Nolen, 20, also of Prescott. Both were taken to Medical Park Hospital in Hope. Flemons was treated and released, but Nolen was held for observation, Reeder said, though the wounds were not thought to be life threatening. One suspect, a 17-year-old, was arrested, but charges have not been filed against him as yet. Reeder said they aren't sure what the charges will be or if he'll be charged as an adult. Law enforcement officers are also looking for Terry Gulley, of Prescott, in connection with the shooting. According to Reeder, the victims pulled up beside Gulley's home on Section Line Ave. and, witnesses said, Gulley walked out and opened fire. The incident is still under investigation. ARREST MADE It wasn't a good Mother's Day, for the mother of Steve Spell, 33, of Laneburg, Sunday. According to Nevada County Sheriff Steve Otwell, Spell was arrested at his mother's Nashville home around 6:45 p.m. Sunday in connection with threats made against his ex-wife, who lives in Emmet. Otwell said Spell's ex-wife made allegations against Spell saying he threatened to do severe bodily harm to her. He has been charged with terroristic threatening in the first degree, violating an order of protection, criminal mischief and criminal trespass, all in connection with his ex-wife, Otwell said. Otwell said Spell allegedly went to his ex-wife's mobile home in Emmet Thursday and ripped out the underpinning. He also made numerous phone calls to her, which were recorded. Otwell and deputy Hebb Sorrells guarded Spell's ex-wife's home Saturday night, in case he returned and tried something. The NCSO got a tip Spell was at his mother's home in Nashville Sunday with Otwell going and picking him up. According to Otwell, Spell's family wants him to get mental counseling, but the criminal charges must first be dealt with. Terroristic threatening in the first degree is a felony offense.
