Gurdon Band Thanks Area Supporters

The Gurdon Band Boosters would like to thank the businesses and all the people who came out for the auction on April 29.

Thomason's Big Star showed overwhelming support by donating the use of its parking lot, as well as furnishing hamburgers and all the fixings and a great attitude about all the space being taken up by this successful band scholarship fund-raiser.

Horne Funeral Home furnished the tent, which provided much needed shade.

Gurdon Rotary Club members provided lots of delicious lunches. Many food items baked by Gurdon citizens were brought to the auction.

Businesses making donations to Band Boosters members included New Image, K&T Clothing, Eddie Clark, Sonic, Fish Net, McGee's Grocery, Paul's Video, Austin's Rentals, Woolf's Service Center, Karen's Peanut Brittle, First State Bank, Kuhn's Hardware, Palmer's Cakes, Allen's Bar-B-Q, Pizza Shack, Billy Joe's Automotive, D&D NAPA Auto, Rickett's Diesel Service, Highway 67 Red-E-Mart, and Plyler's Hardware.

The continuing list includes Lennox Air Conditioning, Stihl Saw Co., General Brakes Inc., Print Mania, Mary and Martha's, Land's Pool and Spa, Juanita's Candy Kitchen, Siplast, Hardman's, Nix Equipment, Auto Zone, Brookshire's, Western Sizzlin, Wal-Mart, Mazzio's, Andy's, Fred's, Sue's Hallmark, Nick's Barber, Palmer's, Thomerson's Drug Store, Calley's Fina Station, Cato's, Hair It Is, Billy's Main Street Florist and the Forget-Me- Knot Shop.

Denise Ezell and Maxine Weems worked hare, picking up donations from the many places involved. Appreciation also goes to all the band students who helped set up and clean up that day.
