Steve Escalante Leaving HSU For KosovoPublished Wednesday, May 17, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesSteve Escalante, who has been at Henderson State University since 1991, resigned his position as director of University Police. He has accepted a position as an International Police Officer with the State Department and will be working under the United Nations in Kosovo. Escalante will be on leave until mid-May, at which time he will report to Fort Worth, Texas, to begin orientation. Until a replacement is found, all questions or problems concerning campus safety should be directed to Mike Maroney at extension 5083. "The past nine years with Henderson have been most rewarding," said Escalante. "I am grateful for the opportunities and experience afforded me, but most of all for the many friends I have made along the way. I wish Henderson State continued success."
