Congratulations to our spelling bee contestants, Eulah Wilson, Gurdon's winner, and Exsie (Pat) Green, Arkadelphia's winner. They challenged one another at the Arkadelphia Center on Monday, May 8. It was a tie. We have some smart, older ladies.

On May 9 several remembered funny things that had happened at the old center, as well as the new one.

Sybil Harris told about the womanless wedding' we had at the old center. It was hilarious. It is good to remember some of the funny things and the good times we had in the past. Time passes so fast now that we don't have time to really enjoy the good and bad times.

We had music by Bud Gulledge on May 10. Then we honored mothers on Friday.

Tuesday was to be our monthly council meeting as well as dine out night for the seniors adults in the evening.

Bro. Glen Shults will sing for us on Wednesday. A picnic trip is planned for Thursday. We will enjoy the square dancers on Friday.

Hope everyone weathered the storm on Friday night. It was terrific.

Next week will be Senior Adult Week. May has been set aside as Senior Month. We have more activities scheduled for the rest of the month. We would love for you to stop by and see what we have to offer. The center is a great place to fellowship, visit your friends and enjoy a good hot meal.

Gurdon Senior Adult Center kicked off Senior Week with a visit from First State Bank of Gurdon. First State graciously set up a booth, presented helpful information, and passed out goodies for the senior adults Monday, May 15.

Activities director Martha Beardon expressed her thanks to the bank for their interest in the seniors of Gurdon.

The center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and a United Way agency.
