Gurdon Sonic Helps Jr. High Cheerleaders 'Hop'

The Cabe Junior High cheerleaders had a wonderful day on Saturday, May 6, at the Gurdon Sonic.

Sonic's manager, Mary Smith, graciously allowed the girls to carhop that day.

In addition to delivering food to the customers, they also entertained with cheers, chants, jumps and gymnastics during the day gratefully accepting donations for their efforts.

They also registered customers for the $50 Wal-Mart gift certificate donated by Sonic. Marlene Kinder was the surprised winner of the gift certificate.

Thanks to the wonderful people of Gurdon and all the friends and relatives of the junior cheerleaders. The girls raised $630, which will help with camp costs.

The cheerleaders will be attending cheerleader camp in Jonesboro in June.

Members of the 2000-2001 junior cheerleading squad are Jill Plyler, captain; Taylor Pace, co-captain; Katie Barbaree, Blair Griffin, Haley Griffin, Shea Kadari, Callie King, Haleigh McDaniel, Cassy Purifoy, Destiny Talley, Kayla Wells and Takia Williams. Their coach is Linda Bullard.
