The Nevada County Extension Homemakers Council is once again handling the American Red Cross Blood Drive in the county.

The blood drive is held six times a year to assist the Red Cross in maintaining a three-day reserve in the state of Arkansas. By Nevada County citizens participating in this blood drive, we assure that a supply is available, if needed, for the people in this county.

In the last several years, the number of donors in Nevada County had been steadily declining and we were at the point of losing the opportunity to have a blood drive in our county. The American Red Cross asked the Nevada County Extension Homemakers to assist them in turning the program around. The Extension Homemaker's accepted the challenge and we have steadily increased donors.

We thank each of the wonderful donors who has participated in the past and we look forward to new ones.

The next drive is scheduled Tuesday, May 16, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in Prescott. Previous donors will be reminded by telephone. Those of you who have not donated in the past just need to show up.

If you have any questions about donor criteria, please call this office at 870-887-2818. We will be happy to answer your questions.
