The Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce is seeking ideas and items to put into the millennium time capsule.

This box will be placed in the mini-park that is being developed on the former Sterling Store lot at the corner of Main and West First Streets. It will be buried in early summer.

The box will be opened in 100 years.

Moms in Touch prayer groups for schools and children meet Tuesdays from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. at First Baptist Church. For more information call 887-6376.

A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott at the courthouse May 25 and June 22.

Supplemental Security Income pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible call 1-800-772-1213.

Prescott School District is now accepting nominations for possible gifted and talented (GT) testing and placement. Nominations are open for grades 3-12. A form may be picked up at the McRae Middle School from Phillip Holthoff or at Prescott Elementary School from Alvis Conway.

White's Chapel Baptist Church will have its revival June 12-16 with services starting at 7:30 each night. Bro. Jerry Evans will be the evangelist. White's Chapel is located between Bodcaw and Willisville on County Road 7.

A diabetic education class will be held Wednesday, May 12, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clark County Fairgrounds Extension Homemakers kitchen. Nerve damage will be the topic. The fairgrounds is located just south of Arkadelphia of Highway 67.

The speaker will be Mark Jansen, M.D.

The meeting will be sponsored by AllCare Pharmacy and Nevada County Cooperative Extension.

Anyone wishing transportation should be at the Nevada County Extension office that day by 1:15 p.m.

S.C.A.N., (suspected child abuse and neglect) needs volunteers. You can volunteer your services to help brighten the life of a child in your community.

CNC Extension Homemakers Club will be sponsoring a bean and cornbread supper Saturday, May 20, at 5 p.m. at Cale City Hall.

The supper will cost $2, which will also give you a chance to win an Afghan.

Entertainment will include country and gospel singing and candidates will have the opportunity to speak briefly.

Sweet Home Church, located on Highway 371 between Prescott and Blevins, will hold its annual homecoming services Sunday, May 14, at 10:30 a.m. Bro. J.W. McAdams will bring the morning sermon at 11:00.

Lunch will be served and there will be singing in the afternoon. Everyone is invited to attend.

Sweet Home Cemetery Association will hold its annual business meeting Sun., May 14, immediate following the homecoming services. Everyone interested in the Sweet Home Cemetery is urged to attend.

A free gospel concert will be held Saturday, May 20, at 7 p.m. at Grandpa's Place, located on Highway 355 East between Patmos and Falcon, 13 miles south of Hope.

Featuring singers will be, Greenville Missionary Baptist Choir, Ransomed Heart and The Lacey's, nationally known artist from Trussville, Ala.

There will be try-outs for a dance troupe Sunday, May 21, at 2 p.m. at the Prescott High School auditorium. This group of tappers will entertain at several events and productions throughout the year.

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church is inviting all the political candidates to speak on Saturday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited.

Descendants of Wyatt Harris will have their annual family reunion on Saturday, May 20, starting at 10:30 at the Prescott Housing Community. There will be a potluck at noon. All relatives and friends are invited.

The Ila Upchurch Group will sponsor the chamber coffee Thursday, May 11, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the corner of East Second and Laurel Sts.

Everyone is encouraged to attend and learn first hand the work that the group is doing for the community and young people.

There will be an open house and ribbon-cutting for Seasons on Tuesday, May 16, 9:30 to 11 a.m. The ribbon-cutting will be held at 10 a.m.

Seasons is located on Highway 67 North next to the Sonic. Everyone is invited to attend.
