HORNE FUNERAL HOME of GURDON

John W. Yarbrough, 81, of Vivian, La., died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at his home.

Mr. Yarbrough, a native of Gurdon, was born March 20, 1919, to William V. and Lillian Stoker Yarbrough. He was a retired foreman with SWEPCO, attended the First Church of Chirst, Scientist in Shreveport, La. He was a World War II veteran.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Jackie Yarbrough of Minden, La., and Ed and Rhonda Yarbrough of Van Buren; three daughters, Kay Yarbrough of Vivian, Karrell Dowling and husband Larry of Decatur, Ga., and Karren Smith of Stathem, Ga.; son in-law, David Richey; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, May 6, in Horne Funeral Chapel in Gurdon, with interment in Rose Hedge Cemetery by Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon.
