Stickland, Harwell Wedding Is June 10Published Wednesday, May 10, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesMr. and Mrs. Danny Strickland of Ridge Spring, S.C., are proud to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Leslie, to Ben Harwell of Star, N.C. Ben is the son of Matt and Pat Harwell of the Falcon-Willisville area. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Marion and Betty Strickland of Aiken, S.C., and Frances Collum and the late Crayton Collum of Ridge Spring. Miss Strickland is a 1999 graduate of Ridge Spring-Monetta High School. She will be transferring studies from USC-Aiken to UNC as she pursues a degree in elementary education. Ben is the grandson of Martha Harwell and the late J.B. Harwell of Gurdon, the late Bob and Mildred Purifoy of Rosston and a great grandson of Zela Taylor of Arkadelphia, formerly of Gurdon. He is a 1995 graduate of Nevada High School and is ranch ranger for Circle B Farms in Star and Ether, N.C. The wedding is planned for June 10 at Ridge Spring Baptist Church in Ridge Spring, S.C.
