No injuries were reported in conjunction with a shooting incident Thursday, May 4.

Gurdon City Marshal David Childres said the GPD got a call concerning a shooting around 5 p.m.

The shooting occurred at 208 Joslyn, but when officers arrived, they found no one at the scene had been shot or injured.

Further investigation revealed a Kelvin Hopson had gotten into a fight with Kenny Christopher, according to Childres. The two wrestled around when Christopher broke free and got a .380 semiautomatic handgun from his car.

Childres said Christopher reportedly fired at Hopson, while Hopson was running toward the back of the house.

Christopher, who lives on Meadowbrook, got in his car and left the scene.

Childres and officer Gary Marshal went to the Christopher home and placed him under arrest without incident around 6 p.m.

The weapon was recovered and had a shell hung in the clip, preventing it from going into the firing chamber.

Christopher was taken to the Clark County jail and charged with aggravated assault.

No charges have been filed on Hopson, who is out on parole at this time, Childres said.
