Blevins Softball Squad Wins 7AA District Title

The Blevins Lady Hornets won the 7AA Central District softball tournament at Mineral Springs on Thursday, April 20.

In the first round game the Lady Hornets defeated Mineral Springs 11-6.

It was tied 2-2 after one inning with no runs scored in the second. In the third Mineral Springs took the lead 4-2.

In the top of the fourth Blevins scored 6 runs and held Mineral to nothing, taking an 8-4 lead. No more runs were scored until the sixth when both teams scored 2 runs, making it 10-6 in favor of Blevins. In the top of the 7th Blevins scored 1 final score to win the game 11-6.

Angie Scoggins, Alison Jordan and Nikki Guarisco went 3 for 4.

In the final game Blevins defeated Stamps 13-12, making it a great all around game.

Keta Rogers went 4/4 with 1 home run, Lacey Myers, Amber Gregory and Nikki Guarisco went 3/4 for Blevins.

The Lady Hornets were to play Foreman in the Regional Tournament Monday, May 1, at Murfreesboro.
