Classy Moments from CMS

If you hear shouting coming from CMS it might be those eighth graders as they have completed the ACTAAP test. The students were ready to began testing Tuesday and continued through Friday. Their mornings were spent with test concerning reading, writing and math. Each test was timed.

A break with snacks was provided for the students as they were allowed to go outside for a few minutes between tests. Those who did not miss a day of testing will be given a get out of d-hall free pass.' That means a lot to several students. Also, a day out to the park is being planned. Date for that will be announced later. You can be sure they will not let us forget it.

It seems as though we have the 7AA Track and Field Champions. Not only champions, but a new district record has been set, breaking the old record by five seconds. Great job!!!

The Gurdon track team participated in competition with Stamps, Lewisville, Genoa, Nevada and Blevins. Team members from CMS are Derrick Puckett, T.J. Morgan, Barry Nolan, Matt McElhannon, and Brandon Sanders.

Members of the junior girls Track team are Markita Box, Alecia Bell, Ashely Caviness, Haley Griffin, Takia Williams, Tocara Laster and Tabitha Manley.

We look forward to having our own track soon. It will be a first for our school as we have never had a real track before. So many things that are provided, or in the plans, for our students are so greatly appreciated.

Mrs. Hogue was surprised Tuesday, Secretary's Day, when given a money gift and half of a day off. She was also treated to a delicious finger food luncheon Friday. She was just being spoiled. Think maybe she needs a rest when she answers the intercom with a reply of "Cabe Middle School, Linda Gayle speaking." We may have to assign someone to be there with her from time to time.

A prayer group has started meeting in Mrs. Clark's room after lunch with about 30 students in attendance. The group invites any student to attend their meetings.

We are quickly approaching the end of this school year. We say thanks again for your help, support, and encouragement as we continue to make those Classy Moments at Cabe Middle School.
