Doris JesterPublished Wednesday, May 3, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesDoris Jester, 69, of Arkadelphia passed away from this life Friday, April 28, 2000, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Jester was born December 3, 1930, the daughter of Victor and Linnie Manning Deaton. She was a homemaker and later in life she was a waitress and hostess and retired from Bowen's Restaurant in Caddo Valley. Mrs. Jester was a member of Twin Lakes Baptist Church in Hot Springs. Survivors include her mother, Linnie Deaton of Curtis; her husband of 32 years, Allmon Jester of Curtis; five children and their spouses, Stephen and Elease Jester of Baton Rouge, La., Alan and June Jester of Richwoods, Jannette and Barry Burke of Little Rock, Gary and Teresa Jester of Gurdon and Anita and Hal Dixon of Hot Springs; eleven grandchildren, Dorrie Ledbetter, Jon Stephen Jester, Jeff and Stephen Swearingen, Erin and Joseph Jester, Rachael Burke, Bo and Sissi Jester and Elizabeth and Jocelyn Dixon; and two great grandchildren, Faith Ledbetter and Heather Jester; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Arkadelphia Monday, May 1, with Rev. Hal Dixon and Rev. Charlie Williams officiating. Burial was in Harts Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joseph Jester, Stephen Swearingen, Mark Ledbetter, Sherrell Jester, Phillip Jester, Jeff Milner, Bryon Dixon and Rusty Malcom.
