CAPS Conference SetPublished Wednesday, May 3, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayunePrescott High School will hold its annual CAPS conference May 23. This conference will give students and parents the opportunity to sit down with a trained teacher or advisor to review the career portfolio, determine a career major, select courses and set career goals. Based on the Arkansas State Board of Education high school graduation requirements, each student will be required to have six units in a career major in addition to the core curriculum. During the conference, test scores will be addressed. In addition, grades credits and next year's classes will be selected. Parents will have a chance to discuss any concerns they have concerning their child's course of study. High school students will not attend classes that day. Letters to parents and conference times will be sent home in the next couple of weeks. The district wants every parent or guardian attending with their child. Call Paula Cossey, Prescott High School counselor, at 887-2770 during regular school hours for more information. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
