Lung Association Accepting Vehicles

Published Wednesday, June 2, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune

Do you have a used vehicle in your garage or driveway you would like to get ride of for free?

If so, don't trade it. Donate it to the American Lung Association and help Arkansans breathe easier.

Donating your used car, truck, van, motorcycle or boat to the American Lung Association of Arkansas has never been easier. All it takes is a simply phone call to the Vehicle Donation Program Customer Service Center.

You'll help yourself with a potential tax deduction, possibly more than you would receive by trading your vehicle in or selling it. But more importantly, your donation will fund medical research and educational programs geared at helping the 44,000 Arkansas children with asthma, preventing kids from smoking and aiding the 250,000 Arkansans who suffer with incurable lung disease.

Programs funded through the Vehicle Donation Program include Asthma Camp, Open Airways For Schools and Asthma In-Services which help asthmatic children and their parents learn to better manage the disease. High School Heroes and Healthy Lungs Month used trained volunteers to warn kids of the dangers of smoking and help them deal with peer pressure.

To donate your used vehicle to the American Lung Association's Vehicle Donation Program, call 1-888-300-5864.
