Caney NewsBy RUBY WICKERPublished Wednesday, April 26, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune I trust everyone had a happy Easter. We had a full house at church. It was good to have all our visitors. Charles and Weanetta White celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday afternoon. Members of Morris Baptist Church gathered at Serepta Springs to clean and make preparation for this week's revival. We hope you will join us each evening at 7:00, with a different pastor from churches in our association. The little folks of our church presented a program Sunday morning depicting the resurrection of Christ. We commend the teacher who continues to work with our children. Bro. Tal Webb and his family visited his parents, Donald and Margaret Webb, and her parents, Larry and Betty Gillyean, Sunday after church. Chris Hicks and his family were in church Sundayfirst time since his accident, and it was also first time for little Caney Monroe Hicks. J.W. and Maxine Glass had all their families Sunday, except Jackie and Pat. Kenny was home from Eudora. He, Pat and children had lunch with his mother. Bro. Junior and Ann spent part of the weekend in Camden with their children. While they were there they all celebrated Jane Bradshaw's birthday at Tiger Harry's. My family all had lunch with my daughter, Phyllis Stewart. April Stewart was home from Little Rock for the week. Robert Callicott and Emily Sweat were home from SAU. Phyllis says that the Bill and Lula family history cookbooks are about ready to go to press, so if you're interested in having one put in your order. They will have old family recipes, fond memories and lots of family history. Jane Bradshaw and family and Peggy and Don Fain, all of Camden had lunch with Bro. Junior and Ann Loe Sunday. Sarah Bradshaw of SAU also had lunch and attended church with Junior and Ann Sunday evening. Dennis Hicks spent the holidays here with his parents, Bob and Carolyn, and other relatives. I attended a shower for my grand nephew, Jesse May, and his new bride Saturday afternoon in Prescott. They are making their home in Nashville, Tenn., where he is attending school.
