There were several visitors in the community visiting relatives on Easter weekend. Many of the younger folks were seen carrying baskets, eating candy, and getting all exited about searching for eggs.

It wasn't just the young folks. James and Kay Nelson were also searching for eggs, but I don't believe they carry baskets. They have an easier way. James says some of his chickens are not cooperating very well, though.

The weather was very nice last Saturday for the fish fry at Bluff City. Several of the men spent a large part of the afternoon cooking fish, french fries, and hushpuppies.

I think it will be a day or so before anyone wants another fish dinner. Thanks to the men who cooked, the women who served the meals, and all that helped in this project or made donations. It was for a good cause and I know it was appreciated by the Bishop and Sellers families.

One of the largest king snakes I've ever seen was spotted in Bluff City last Friday. Since these are "good snakes", it was not harmed. It was last spotted near the Carman residence and was headed east.

Looking back to the year 1933, we find the Bluff City High School FFA boys sponsoring an old time music and boxing show to raise money to buy new shop equipment to replace what had been stolen from the school. The FFA officers that year were Ashley DeWoody, President; Glen Gillespie, Vice-President; Paul Barlow, Secretary;

Robert Sampson, Treasurer; and Dawson Barlow, reporter. Some of the projects they had that year were

the sodding of the school campus, shipping cream, and holding a father-son banquet.

Here's a thought from Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Never read any book that is not a year old."
