C.R. 'Clint' East

C.R. Clint' East, 77, of Hope died Monday, April 17, 2000, at Heather Manor Nursing Center in Hope.

Mr. East was born September 4, 1922, in Rosston to Amzie and Della Purtle East. He was a retired farmer. Mr. East was a member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was well known for his generosity and support of his family, friends and neighbors. Mr. East was preceded in death by his two brothers, Clifton and Clyde East, and by one sister, Lera Dillard.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Adelle Adams East of Hope; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Trudie East and Wayne and Tina East, all of Texarkana; three daughters, Sharon Rowe and her husband David of Springfield, Mo., Gail Elder and her husband Mike of Hope and Belinda Green of Hope; five sisters, Birtie Fincher, Obera Warren, Linne Mae Holiday and Betty Powell, all of Hope and Dorothy Butler of Tyler, Texas; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 20, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Rev. Arlis East officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
