Band Events Planned For Next Season

The Region III members of the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association set their 2000-2001 events calendar at the annual spring directors' meeting Wednesday, April 12.

Arkadelphia High School will host the region marching contest on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University on Tuesday, October 24, next fall. In case of rain the alternate date is October 31.

Region jazz band tryouts will be at Arkadelphia High School on Monday, November 27, with the clinic there the following Saturday.

All-region junior high band tryouts will also be at AHS on December 9 with the corresponding senior high tryouts on January 20, 2001.

OBU will again be the site on the all-region clinics held on January 26 and 27 as well as the region playing festival, which will take place on March 15 and 16.

The final region event of the year will be the solo and ensemble contest at Arkadelphia High School on April 20 and 21.
