Published Wednesday, April 26, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune

Some households will be able to connect to the Waterloo-Bodcaw water system without charge.

For a household to be eligible certain criteria must be met regarding income. Funding of connections for all income-eligible residents is being provided by the Arkansas Department of Economic Development Program grant.

In order to qualify for free connections to the system, your gross annual income must fall within one the following categories: Household of one: $19,450; two: $22,200; three: $25,000; four: $27,750; five: $30,000; six: $32,200; seven, $34,400; and a household of eight cannot make over 36,650 a year.

If you believe you qualify applications will be taken at Harrison Chapel Church in Waterloo on May 1 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the Bodcaw Community Center on May 2 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Families applying for a free connection should take the following items with you: Social Security numbers for all persons who receive income; proof of income, such as a copy of your check stub, or a W-2 form; real property tax receipt or anything which shows the legal description of the property, such as a copy of your deed; and, if self-employed, copies of your 1995 tax return will be needed to verify income.

If you cannot be present because of physical disabilities you may contact Blake Harrell or Kathy Lee at 870-234-4030 so that special arrangements can be made to deliver an application.
