A Nevada County resident is being held on drug charges after Nevada County Sheriff Steve Otwell found drugs at the suspect's home.

Jon Charles Marbury, 49, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture methamphetamine and the simultaneous possession of firearms and drugs.

Otwell learned Marbury may have been growing marijuana at his home and checked. He found two plants in the front seat of a vehicle on the property and obtained a search warrant.

Officers then did a full search of the Marbury home and found a relatively large quantity of a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana wrapped in plastic, a 20-gauge sawed-off single barrel shotgun, a plastic container with substance believed to be methamphetamine along with paraphernalia.

DWI 4

Fred Miller, of Nevada County, was arrested south of Willisville on Highway 371 and charged with his fourth offense of driving while under the influence.

Deputy Larry Miller saw the suspect driving on the shoulder of the road, turned around and began following him.

He saw the suspect weave across the center line and fog line on the road several times and stopped the car.

The officer stopped the suspect and ran a check on his driver's license, learning it had been suspended.

He also detected the strong odor of alcohol coming from the suspect, who was given, and failed, a field sobriety test.

The officer noticed three children in the vehicle and called their mother to come and get them.

When the suspect was taken to the Nevada County jail for a breath test, he registered 0.15. The legal limit in Arkansas is 0.10.

Miller was subsequently charged with driving on a suspended license, three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and DWI 4, which is a felony.
