Blazes Erupt In Gurdon Over Two NightsBy JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, April 26, 2000 in the Gurdon Times FIRESTORM Seven fires were set in Gurdon during a 48-hour period last week keeping firefighters busy. On Thursday night, April 20, three of the fires were fought, with four more being dealt with in the early hours of Saturday morning. A suspect has been arrested in the Thursday fires, and authorities have a suspect in Friday's blazes. Thursday, the home economics building at the old Gurdon High School burned, along with the Hours of Joy Daycare Center and a house on the Old Whelen Road.
