Helen Jordan Lewis, 85, of Temple, Texas, died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at a Temple hospital.

Mrs. Lewis was born October 12, 1914, in Hollywood to Will Ed and Estella Jordan. She graduated high school in Arkadelphia and attended Henderson College. She was married to Henry Harold Lewis in 1934. Mrs. Lewis was a member of First Baptist Church in Arkadelphia for eight years and First Baptist Church in Prescott for 62 years. After moving to Texas in 1997, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Belton, Texas, for three years. She retired from Logan Wholesale Grocery Company in Prescott.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Harold Lewis of Temple; one daughter, Nancy Lewis Clements and her husband Bill of Austin, Texas; her grandchildren, Michael, Melissa and her husband Billy, and Melinda; and three great grandchildren, Trevor, Kelley and Chester.

Services were held Thursday, April 13, 2000, at First Baptist Church in Belton with Rev. Andy Davis officiating. Burial was Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple under the direction of Heartfield Funeral Home of Belton.
