Caney NewsBy RUBY WICKERPublished Wednesday, April 19, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune We had very good attendance at Morris Baptist Church Sunday. We were happy to see Belinda and Lee Mercer from Cale and Margaret Webb and Dorothy Mathis and her husband among our visitors. Don and Janice Callicott and I had lunch with Phyllis Stewart and her family in Prescott Sunday after church. Emily, Amy, Chris and Denise Sweat of McCaskill. Bill Ed and Glenda Dixon of Orange, Texas, also met us there. Glen and Bill Ed, Amy and I went to First Baptist Church with Phyllis and Cyril for a special program Sunday evening. The Morris Baptist singers visited Russ Carlton and family Sunday after evening service. Russ invited them to come down and sing a while. I would like to remind you of Bible study at Morris Baptist Wednesday evening at 7:00. Truth and training for the youngsters will be Thursday evening. Also C&C Extension Club meets at Cale City Hall Thursday evening at 6:30. Michael Wicker of Benton visited his grandmother, Wanda, last weekend. Wanda was proud of his help in mowing the yard and doing some Bush Hogging. Bro. William and Becky Smith of Stamps visited Bro. Junior and Ann Loe last week. Bro. Tal and family, Sidney Steed and Lucy Glass had lunch with Junior and Ann Loe Sunday. Marsh Rhodes has returned from her trip to New York. They have not had a chance to talk to her, but I know she had a great time. Margie Reed visited her doctor in El Dorado for a routine check up last week. All our patients in Caney are improving. Evelyn Wicker is beginning to be out and about after surgery and Chris Hicks has some movement in his toes. We neighbors are proud of that improvement.
