Nevada Elementary Accelerated Readers HonoredPHOTOS AVAILABLE IN PRINT EDITIONPublished Wednesday, April 19, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune On Tuesday, March 21, 73 members of the Nevada Elementary Library Club for Accelerated Readers were treated to a special dessert served by their teachers. Students in grades 1-6 read designated books, tested on the classroom computers and earned points for the right answers to questions pertaining to the books. These points are used as a basis for membership in the club. Teachers prepare the desserts and members are presented ribbons for their efforts. Teachers and students alike celebrate the joy of reading in a very special way. Susan West, elementary librarian, is shown with those students in the first grade who earned membership in the Library Club.
