Easter Parade Mini-Walk Planned

Published Wednesday, April 19, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune

The children of Prescott Head Start will don bunny ears and hop down the bunny trail during the Easter parade mini-walk on April 20.

They will join other daycare facilities across the state to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation's camp for children with arthritis.

Each child will receive a certificate and special prizes will be given to those children who receive the most pledges from the families and friends.

Arthritis is not just an older person's disease. Juvenile arthritis affects an estimated 285,000 children in the United States. Juvenile arthritis robs children of a childhood that is free from pain and sometimes can cause deformity.

The mission of the Arthritis Foundation is to support research to find the cure for and prevention of arthritis and to improve the quality of life for those affected by arthritis. The Easter parade mini-walk is about kids helping kids.
