The Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce is seeking ideas and items to put into the millennium time capsule. This box will be placed in the mini-park that is being developed on the former Sterling Store lot at the corner of Main and West First Streets. It will be buried in early summer. The Prescott High School class of 1990 reunion committee will be having a meeting April 22 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Central Baptist Church fellowship hall. All members are urged to come. Supplemental Security Income pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. The Artesian Arts League will have a tea party Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m. in the newly decorated Prescott City Hall auditorium. The attire is dress, hat and gloves. A talent show will be held between the two games with the winner of the talent show receiving a $50 prize. The April Chamber of Commerce coffee will be held Thursday, April 20, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Nevada County Library. The coffee will be sponsored by the Nevada County Library and Friends of the Library. Everyone is invited to attend. The Chamber will have a ribbon-cutting and open house for The Whistlin Gopher Thursday, April 27, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at 123 East Elm. The ribbon-cutting ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. Refreshments will be served. Everyone is invited to attend. The annual work day at Ebenezer Cemetery will be April 22. Velda and Marcus Christopher are proud to announce the birth of their son, Marcus Douglas Jr., who was born Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. He weighed five pounds and 14= ounces and measured 19< inches. Grandparents are Iris Jean Elliott-Dansby of Willisville; Hersey Elliott of Camden and Doris Hopson of Houston, Texas. Marcus Douglas has two big sisters, Dajha of Prescott and Tierra of Little Rock. Carlos and Candice Phillips of Prescott are proud to announce the birth of their son, Derius Javen Phillips, who was born Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. He weighed seven pounds and 11 ounces and was 20= inches long. Prescott Public Schools is now accepting nominations for possible gifted and talented (GT) testing and placement. Nominations are open for grades 3-12. A form may be picked up at the McRae Middle School from Phillip Holthoff or at Prescott Elementary School from Alvis Conway. Sarepta Shed Revival will be held April 24 -28 at 7:00 each night. The speakers will be Bro. Pat Fulmer of Landmark Baptist Mission in Hope on Monday; Bro. Brit Dupree of Park Baptist Church in Prescott on Tuesday; Bro. Tal Webb of Morris Baptist Church of Caney on Wednesday; Thursday will be singing; Bro. Kelly Stringer of White Oak Grove Baptist Church of DeAnn will preach on Friday. McNeil High School forties reunion will be held Saturday, April 29. Registration will begin at 1 p.m. with visitation ending at 4 p.m. All who attended the school from 1940 through 1949 are invited to attend. No reservations necessary for the afternoon session.
