Don't forget that income tax day is fast approaching. Someone once

said, "A fine is a tax for doing something wrong and a tax is a fine for doing something right". Uncle Sam should remember the words of Tiberius Caesar who said, "It is the duty of a good shepherd to shear his sheep, not to skin them".

Charles and Patricia Farr spent several days in Nashville, Tennessee

last week.

Adam McKelvy spent a day or two with his grandmother, Vernell Loe recently.

Lexi Nelson from Ft. Smith spent a few days with her grandparents, James and Kay Nelson.

If dogs counted in the 2000 census, Bluff City would be in pretty good shape. The canine population jumped quite a bit last week. The Mark Meador family has four new pups, but Bill and Linda Carman's Lab set a record with eleven pups born last week. Linda says trying to find all of them was more fun than hunting Easter eggs.

Mark the date April 22 on your calendar. Plans are being made for a benefit fish fry at the Country Store in Bluff City from 4 to 7 PM. A fish dinner with all the trimmings can be purchased for five dollars. The proceeds will go to help pay the

medical expenses of David Bishop, who is the brother of our own Kay Sellers. David has leukemia and is in need of bone marrow transplant. So come on up to the Bluff and get a

good meal and help this worthy cause.

The time is fast approaching for the annual reunion of former Bluff City School students. It will be on Saturday, May 6th at the Hale Community Room in Prescott.

If you know of someone who lives some distance away, be sure and let them know of the time and place.

I understand this will be a pot luck meal this year with sandwiches and

other "finger foods".

Here's an item from the Gooseankle community news in April, 1922: Lida Grimes and her sisters were seen on their way home carrying an amberol. She wasplaying "God Be With You 'Til We Meet Again".

A thought for the week: "Common sense is not common".
