Burke Wins Writing Award

Members of Beta Bet Kappa Honor Society from the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope returned from the Oklahoma/Arkansas Regional Convention March 31 to April 2 brandishing several chapter and individual awards.

The awards were the result of hard work and dedication to Phi Theta Kappa, according to a news release.

Debbie Burke of Prescott won first place in the short story members division; she also received the Distinguished Chapter President Award and was named to the Regions Hall of Honor.'

Thomas Radelmiller won first place in short story; second place in arts and third place in poetry in the advisory division and was named Most Distinguished Chapter Advisor of the Oklahoma/Arkansas Region.

The UACCH campus won two first place awards the chapter newsletter and Service Hallmark Award, as well as second place for yearbook and third place for leadership. It also received the High Hopes Award and recognition for meeting five-star goal.

Some of the members of Phi Theta Kappa will be attending the international convention in Orlando, Fla., at the end of April to represent UACCH in pride and leadership.
