Local Youth Club Spends Fun Day In ArkadelphiaPublished Wednesday, April 12, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Boys to Men and Girls to Women (BW-GW) Coalition of Prescott attended in a spring Go-Cart fun day in Arkadelphia Saturday, April 8. The youth group had a time of their life riding the mini cars, playing mini golf and other fun activities, according to Leavel Gibson, who leads the group. "During this and other activities they developed a bonding relationship and character with each other and the adults." Thirty-eight kids (grades 3-6) and six adults took part in this derby. "We feel that this program is making a difference in the lives of kids at school and at home," Gibson said. The BM-GW is a nonprofit organization established to assist young men and women avoid the use of drug, alcohol, teen pregnancy and gang violence and help them become productive citizens in our society.
