The Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce is seeking ideas and items to put into the millennium time capsule.

This box will be placed in the mini-park that is being developed on the former Sterling Store lot at the corner of Main and West First Streets. It will be buried in early summer.

The box will be opened in 100 years.

The Prescott High School class of 1980 is seeking information regarding addresses of class members.

The School of Hope will present the Ed Enoch and Golden Covenant, (formerly known as J.D. Sumners and the Stamps Quartet), Friday, April 7, at 7:30 p.m., at the Klipsch Auditorium in Hope.

The Laneburg Volunteer Fire Department is having a political rally and hamburger supper April 8 at 7 p.m. at the Laneburg Volunteer Fire Department. Chad Cornelius will be the emcee.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served starting at 6:30 p.m. The meal will be $5 per plate.

The Emmet School board will have its regular monthly meeting Monday, April 10, at 7 p.m. in room four.

The agenda will include the elementary and high school principals' reports, superintendent's report, summer school program, school calendar for 2000-2001 school year, driver education car lease and personnel matters.

Diabetic Education of Prescott will hold its next meeting Wednesday, April 12, at 2 p.m. at the Nevada County Cooperative Extension office.

The topic will be exercise. The speaker will be Chad Cornelius of Prescott Health and Fitness Center.

This meeting is sponsored by AllCare Pharmacy and Nevada County Cooperative Extension.

Moms in Touch prayer groups for schools and children meet Tuesdays from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. at First Baptist Church. For more information call 887-6376.

The Prescott High School class of 1990 reunion committee will be having a meeting April 22 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Central Baptist Church fellowship hall. All members are urged to come.

Morris and Donna Irvin are proud to announce the birth of Amanda Nicole, born Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at 1:44 p.m. at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.

She weighed seven pounds and two ounces and was 20 inches long.

Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ward of Bodcaw and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Irvin of Chidester.

A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott at the courthouse April 27, May 25 and June 22.

Supplemental Security Income pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible, call 1-800-772-1213.

There will be a singing at Boughton Baptist Church Saturday, April 8, at 7 p.m. Featured singers will be the Hawkins Family.

The Artesian Arts League will have a tea party Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m. in the newly decorated Prescott City Hall auditorium.

The attire is dress, hat and gloves. "Wear your Easter bonnet with all the frills upon it," the invitation reads. Special entertainment will be provided by violinist Brenda Westerbrehr and solist Paula Cossey.
