Nominations Sought for GHS Academic Hall Of FamePublished Wednesday, April 5, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesNominations are being accepted for the Gurdon High School Academic Hall of Fame. This honor is reserved for distinguished alumni and faculty members. It is open to those who graduated Gurdon High School or Bell High School or been on the faculty at either school. Those who graduated from one of these schools must have done so at least 15 years ago. For faculty members, 25 years of service is required. The nominees, according to the criteria, must have distinguished themselves in their field in the state, region or nation The nominations must be done in the form of a letter. Included must be the person's name, when they graduated or were on the faculty, their accomplishments and reason for being nominated. Winners will be recognized at the graduation ceremony in May. Recipients are responsible for furnishing an 8 by 10 framed photo for hanging on the wall of fame. The deadline for making a nomination is April 15. Articles dated December 1981 through May 2001 were contributed by Ragsdale Printing Company, Inc. Articles June 2001 to ? were contributed by Better Built Group, Inc. Articles ? to October 2008 were contributed by GateHouse Media. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
