Easter is right around the corner and this means its almost time for the 6th Annual Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt.

This year's hunt will be held Saturday, April 22, at the Nevada County Courthouse.

Mary Godwin, executive director of the Chamber, said there will be four age divisions for the hunters.

Those age 1-2 will begin looking for hidden eggs at 10 a.m., with the 3-4 year olds following at 10:30.

Children 5-7 will start hunting at 11 a.m., with the hunt concluding at 11:30 for those 8-10.

Godwin said about 2,700 eggs will be hidden for the four groups, and every egg contains a prize.

A golden egg will be hidden for each age group and the child who finds one will receive a stuffed Easter bunny.

While the children are looking for eggs, mom and dad can visit the concession stand to get a snack or something to drink.

In addition to the egg hunt and concession stand, there will be face painting, a ring toss game, a duck pond and balloons for the children. Youngsters can also have their pictures taken with the Easter bunny if they'd like for $2 each.

The Artesian Arts League is sponsoring special entertainment in the guise of a clown who ties balloons into animal shapes.

As a special event there will be a best decorated egg contest for all age divisions.

Godwin said the eggs should be decorated at home and brought to the hunt. They will be judged with one winner from each age group selected and given a prize.

Each child coming to hunt eggs must have an Easter basket and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

There is no admission for this event.
