Boughtonby MRS. WILLIE HOOKSPublished Wednesday, March 29, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Steve Garner, son of Lyndal and Dorothy Garner, had major heart surgery (a valve replaced) Tuesday of last week at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Huey Garner was with Dorothy and Lyndal for the surgery. Lenord and Faye House and daughter Lonnie Moore of Michigan spent Monday night with Sammy and Kay House, Jason and Lauren of Little Rock. Faye had a check-up on her hip Wednesday and Lonnie returned to Michigan by plane. Mildred and J.D. Kelly visited J.D. and Mary Ann Lucas Friday. Willie and I enjoyed a visit with Lucy and Joe Heath Wednesday afternoon. Congratulations to Brad Garner and Mandy Shackelford. They were married Saturday, March 25, at the Second Baptist Church in Malvern. Brad is the son of Jerry and Nelda Garner. Freddie and Huey Garner of Prescott attended this wedding. Terry Glass of Hope spent Friday with her mother, Mae Blount. Our daughter-in-law's mother, Roxie Lewallen, of an Arkadelphia nursing home, died Friday morning. Willie and I attended her funeral at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Monday morning at 10:00. Burial was in South Fork Cemetery near Gurdon. We also attended the visiting hours from 2 until 4 Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Everett and Mary Orren spent Sunday night with Fate House of Powderly, Texas. The singing at Boughton Church Saturday night was well attended and a big success. Margaret Gulley spent Sunday afternoon with Syble Brown.
