Oak Grove

The annual Sunday school and usher day program was held at New Bethel AME Church Sunday, March 26. Guest speaker was Sis. Veronica Putilla from Dallas, Texas. Missionary was Tessie Scott's daughter. We really did have a wonderful time. Her theme was Don't Settle for Life's Leftovers."

Sister Genna Burnell fell and broke her hip, and she is in a Texarkana hospital.

Sister Girtie B. Blake is still in the Rehab Center in Hope. She can't walk.

Seth Garner passed away in Texas. It was another one of our alumni of Oak Grove. We have around 138 already on our list. After a while there will not be anyone left from Oak Grove and NCTS.

It is very important for everyone to fill out their census form and send it back in. Don't throw them in the trash and say they are going to do what they want to do. Let's stand up and be counted.

Our nephew and his wife, Freddie and Margaret Dixon, of Mineral Springs visited us Sunday afternoon. We can count on them for help.

Oak Grove Civic League is giving a breakfast Saturday, April 1, from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the League's building. The price is $2.50 a plate. Come out and have breakfast with us.

Oree Joe visited his mother, Clara Joe, in Prescott at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.

James Charles Young of Russellville visits his Aunt Girtie Blake every weekend.

Delma Joshua died March 18. He was 88 years old. One son, Joe Joshua, of Waldo and one daughter, Geneva Graham, of College Park, Ga., are the survivors.

Our Civic League meets every first Tuesday of the month at 6:30. Come and help us. We need help to keep it going.
