Len Godwin

Len Godwin, 66, of Marshall, Texas, died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, in Marshall Manor Nursing Home.

Mr. Godwin was born May 8, 1933, in Nevada County to Olan Leon and Viola Hicks Godwin. He was a graduate of Prescott High School. He married Barbara Jean Tuttle April 5, 1953, in Friendship. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He was a self-employed contractor. He previously worked for Thiokol Corporation of Karnack, Texas, where he was a guard. Mr. Godwin was a member of Fairview Baptist Church of Marshall. He was a member of Marshall Masonic #22 Lodge AF&AM and the Aurora Chapter #799 Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Godwin of Marshall; one daughter, Lenda Godwin Turner of Marshall; one son, Rick Godwin of Marshall; a granddaughter, Summer Elaine Turner of Nacogdoches, Texas; a grandson, Trent Turner of Nacogdoches; one sister, Louise Ursery of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Leroy Godwin of Prescott; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 24, at Travis Street Chapel of the Sullivan Funeral Home of Marshall. Burial was in Colonial Gardens in Marshall under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Randy Spradling, Jim Green, Clifford Boyd, Doug Gardiner, Trent Turner and Harold Summers.
