Basebll Registration Begins

Published Wednesday, March 29, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune

Registration for the 2000 baseball and softball programs in Prescott is underway.

According to a release from the Prescott Baseball Association, the deadline for registering a child in the program is Saturday, April 8, with no registrations accepted after this date.

This is being done so teams can draft players earlier and keep the teams even.

The approximate starting dates for the different leagues has the boys dixie beginning in mid-April; boys little league starting in early May; boys junior little league getting underway in late May; and girls' softball starting in the middle of May.

There is a $25 registration fee, but those families with two or more children playing will get a 20 percent discount.

Players will get to keep their caps and shirts.

The age divisions for girls are as follows: junior little league 7-9; little league 8-10; and dixie league 13-15.

The age breakdown for boys is: junior little league 6-7; little league minor 9-10; little league major 11-12; dixie youth 13-14; and dixie pre-majors 15-16.

Registration forms should be returned to Oliver's One Stop, the Nevada County Branch Bank of Delight, Coach Steve Crow or mailed to the PBA at P.O. Box 351, Prescott, AR 71857 no later than April 8.
