Couple United In MarriagePublished Wednesday, June 9, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneAmy Hope Allen of Lincoln and Douglas Cory Burtrum of Springdale were married at 2 p.m. on May 1 in the Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel in Bella Vista. The Rev. Rod Goodsell officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael P. Allen of Lincoln and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fielding of Hope and Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Allen of Bodcaw. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Steven R. Burtrum of Springdale. He is the grandson of Mr. Clay Killion of Tulsa, Okla., and the late Mrs. Clay Killion; Mrs. Eudora Burtrum of Tulsa, Okla., and Mr. Charles Burtrum of Mesa, Ariz. The chapel was decorated with candelabra accented with ivy, white roses, pearls, gardenias and tulle. Nuptial music was by organist Mrs. Dean Graber; vocalists were Mr. and Mrs. Greg Tanner, aunt and uncle of the bride groom, who sang 'Only God Could Love You More,' and 'A Promise That I Will Keep.' Clay Killion, grandfather of the bridegroom, sang, 'The Lord's Prayer.' The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a princess-style gown of white matte satin. The tank bodice was embellished with re-embroidered Alencon lace, with cutouts of the embellished lace accenting the skirt and the chapel-length train. The gown was hemmed with matching re-embroidered lace. She wore a two-tier fingertip veil of silk illusion, secured by a comb of glass bugle beads and seed pearls. She carried a cascading bouquet of Virginia roses, Stephanotis, alstroemeria and Casablanca lilies. Mrs. Brent Wallace of Springdale was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Scott Brady of Van Buren, Ms. Tara Roeder of Battlefield, Mo., and Mrs. Brian Cochran, cousin of the bride, from Van Buren. They wore floor-length gowns of sage angel-silk satin with empire waists, accented with small square bows and ribbons with small square bows and ribbons in the front. Each carried white lily bouquets. Brooke Burtrum of Duluth, Ga., niece of the bridegroom, and Madalyn Wallace of Springdale were flower girls. Best man was Todd Burtrum of Duluth, Ga., brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Jim Killion of Siloam Springs, cousin of the bridegroom; Reid Neff of Tulsa and Scott Fields of Oklahoma City. Andy Allen of Hot Springs, brother of the bride, and Matt Williamson of Springdale seated the guests. Greeting the guests and attending the guest book were Mia and Kara Burtrum, sisters of the bridegroom. The reception was held at Bella Vista Country Club. Assisting were Colleen Allen of Hot Springs and Ann, Kara and Andra Bickel of Lone Oak, Texas, cousins of the bride. The bride has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She is the tax incentives coordinator with Tyson Foods, Inc. The bridegroom is studying organizational management at John Brown University in Siloam Springs. He works in facilities administration at Transmontaigne, Inc. in Fayetteville.
