Lee Hendrix of Gurdon has been inducted into Alpha Epsilon Lambda at Henderson State University (HSU).

Hendrix will be graduating in May with his master of science degree in community counseling. He is a health services specialist for the Arkansas Department of Human Services.

Hendrix worked for Union Pacific Railroad from 1987 to 1990. He is a member of Arkansas Mental Health Counselors Association.

He has earned a double major as an undergraduate at HSU. Previously, Hendrix had earned a bachelor of science in chemistry with a minor in biology, a bachelor of science in human services with a minor in sociology and an associate degree in education from Garland County Community College in Hot Springs.

Hendrix is the husband of Sheree Hendrix, who is employed at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia as a registered nurse. They have six children, Lalah, Emereal and Miesha Hendrix, and Greg, Alicia and Catina Clayborn.

Alpha Epsilon Lambda is the national honor society for graduate students. The purpose is to promote academic excellence and leadership among graduate students. Nominees are required to meet outstanding academic scholarship, community leadership, and service standards.
