Emmet Students Honored

Emmet High School held its end-of-the-year awards assembly on Tuesday afternoon, May 25, in Ross Gymnasium.

Eighth grade diplomas were presented by Dr. Gene M. Ross, superintendent of the district after the invocation was given by Brandi Billings.

Eighth grade graduates were Kristol Barham, Joshua Clayborn, Sheree Garrison, John David Holt, Jonathon Korenek, John Parmer, Tabitha Reed, Christopher Rodgers, Kendall Stanhouse, Brandon Wiley, Brandi Billings, Kendrick Fore, Michael Harvey, T.J. LaRue, Holly Otwell, Natoiya Reed, Chaquita Smith, Susan Tipton and Chris White.

Frank Henson, principal of the high school, presented the seventh grade Science Award to Haley Muldrew and Brittany Daniels; eighth grade Science Award John Parmer and Tabitha Reed; Spanish I Katie Davidson; Spanish II Tambra Tipton; American History Linda Stephens; World History Tambra Tipton; Global Studies Rodg Valdez; Civics April Smithers; Library Aid Jason Arrington and Regina Brown; seventh and eighth grade Boys' Library class John Parmer; seventh and eighth grade Girls' Library Class Kristol Barham; Algebra II Iria Poncela; Chemistry Iria Poncela; Geometry Lee Harris; Biology Katie Davidson and Rose Martin; PT II Kim Fore; Advanced Math Tambra Tipton; English I April Smithers; English II Rose Martin; English III Rebecca Pate; English IV Rachel Elliott; Practical Arts Brittany Daniel; Computer Technology Marcus Smith and Alexis Banks; GCE Lisa Hawthorne; Computer Technology Spreadsheet Rebecca Pate; Workplace Readiness Brandon White; Physical Science, April Smithers; Keyboarding Bonnie White; Accounting Rebecca Pate; Word Processing Katie Davidson; Computer Technology Kayla Schmitt; Applied Math II Carl Hurt and Ashley Gardner; Seventh Grade Math Brittany Daniels; Eighth Grade Math John Parmer; COE Rachel Elliott; Seventh Geography Natasha Smith; seventh English Haley Muldrew, Eighth English Sheree Garrison and Kristol Barham; Career Orientation Tabitha Reed; Eighth American History John Parmer; and Home Economics I Kayla Schmitt.

Those receiving Driver Education Awards were Toni Beard, Katie Davidson, Brian Davis, Jim Faulkner, Jill Harris, Lee Harris, Carl Hurt, Rose Martin, Demarione Muldrow, Ashley Smith, Nicholas Ward and Brandon White.

Eugene Hopson received the perfect attendance award.

Those receiving a $500 VFW Scholarship were Lisa Hawthorne, Rachel Elliott, Linda Stephens and Tambra Tipton.

The program closed with Holly Otwell giving the benediction.
