Camille Hicks ThompsonPublished Wednesday, March 22, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneCamille Hicks Thompson, 94, of Emmet passed from this life on Tuesday, March 14, 2000 in Bryant. Mrs. Camille was born October 14, 1905, in Fulton to Marcus L. and Zipporah Gilliam Hicks. She was a retired school teacher with the Emmet School District, where she taught math and social studies for 27 years. She held a master's degree from Henderson State University. She also was a former member of the Emmet School board. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Prescott for 36 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.M. Bill' Thompson, in 1970 and her granddaughter, Meg Lasiure, in 1990. Survivors include one son, W.M. Mack' Thomson Jr. of Bryant; two daughters, Floye Anne Shackelford of Texarkana, Texas, and Sarah Hall of Hendersonville, Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Ophelia Thompson of Emmet; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Services were held Thursday, March 16, in the sanctuary of Central Baptist Church with Bro. Arlie East and Bro. Chad Brandon officiating. Interment was in Snell Cemetery in Emmet.
