Dear JohnLetters To The Editor, John RagsdalePublished Wednesday, March 22, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Dear Editor, This letter is in response to a previous letter to the editor, stating that we need to recognize and deal with the stray dogs that roam the city of Prescott. A new organization is in the process of being established to help with this situation. The Humane Society of Hempstead and Nevada Counties is a non-profit, tax deductible, no-kill shelter that will serve both counties. Its main goal is to place homeless animals in good homes and to promote spaying or neutering to help control the unwanted pet population. For those of you interested, please attend our meeting at Western Sizzlin in Hope on March 28 at 7 p.m. We are still trying to line up a facility, look for foster homes and get ideas on fund-raisers.
