Redland NewsHazel MeeksPublished Wednesday, March 22, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Rain! Rain! Good ol' rain that's needed so badly. Our grandson, Casey, from Oxford, Miss., recently visited Neil and me. George and Joy Cox honored their daughter, Gaywyn, at their home Saturday. Of course, Gary attended also. Neil and I enjoyed having many of our friends vist us on Saturday. Bro. Elmer Grant from Hope, our pastor, Bro. Mike Taylor, Billy and Gloria McGinty from Houston, and Jim and Debbie Welch from Longview all visited. Betty and Jim Roberson from Dallas spent the weekend here to be with her mother, Lucy Taylor, who is in Medical Park Hospital with pneumonia. Gary and Alice Meeks from North Little Rock spent Saturday with us and best of all, they brought a most delicious lunch. Bill Ridling Jr. is spending a few days with his parent, Bill and Lela Faye. His wife, Donna, remains inn Oregon with her seriously ill mother. Congratulations to four of our girls for making cheerleaders. They are Katy Wilson, Megan Vandiver, Katy Cox and Kelsey Ratcliff. Recently a group of young folks from Shady Grove Baptist Church visited the children's home in Magnolia. Danny and Lisa Pennington honored their little daughter, Caley, on her ninth birthday with a party at the Prescott City Park. About 16 attended and China Higginbotham spent Friday night with Caley. Katy Wilson, Katy Cox and Brittany Pedigo spent Friday night with Samantha Gordon and they all went skating in Texarkana. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
