A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be at the Nevada County Courthouse Thursday, March 23. Supplemental security income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. To find out if you are eligible, call 1-800-772-1213. The Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce is seeking ideas and items to put into the millennium time capsule. This box will be placed in the mini-park that is being developed on the former Sterling Store lot at the corner of Main and West First Streets. It will be buried in early summer. If your child will have his or her third or fourth birthday before September 15, then HIPPY (Home Instruction Program for Preschool Youngsters) would like to make you an offer you will not want to refuse. Arkansas Public Employees Retirement Systems (APERS) will be bringing a retirement seminar to the Hope area on March 30 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Fair Park Community Center, Park Drive in Hope. This seminar is for state, county, municipal and school employees who are members of APERS. The seminar will include a speaker from APERS, as well as representatives from Social Security Administration, state and public school employees insurance and estate planning. Munn's Chapel Baptist church will be celebrating the third anniversary of their pastor, Rev. Arthur Hill, Sunday, March 26, at 2:30 p.m. Lonoke Baptist Church of Texarkana will be the special guest. Speaker will be Dr. C.K. Yarber, pastor of Lonoke and moderator of the Southwest District Baptist Association. Felix and Stacey Wiley of Prescott are proud to announce the arrival of their second child, Haleigh Nicole, who was born Sunday, March 5, 2000, at Columbia Medical Park Hospital in Hope. Haleigh Nicole weighed six pounds and nine ounces. She was 19> inches long. Her big sisters, Ora E. and Hannah F., welcomed her home. Grandparents are David and Lula Johnson and Ed and Ora Belle Wiley, all of Prescott. Kathy Wilson and Michael Tribble of Nashville are proud to announce the birth of daughter, Haylee Michaela Tribble, March 10, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. She weighed 7 pounds and 10 ounces and was 20 inches long. Grandparents are Jerry and Joyce Wilson of Mineral Springs and Mike Glen Tribble of Mineral Springs. Big brothers Matthew Ryan Sube and Robert Sube and big sister Katie Tribble welcomed her home. A blood drive will be held Thursday, March 23, from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Medical Park Hospital parking lot in Hope. Free t-shirts will be given to donors. A series of rabies clinics will be held Saturday in Nevada County beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Willisville. After Willisville Dr. D.R. Whitehead will vaccinate dogs and cats at Falcon, then Bodcaw, Rosston, Laneburg, Redland and Prescott. Dr. Whitehead will be at each place only 15 minutes except at Prescott, where he will be at the fairgrounds for an hour. See the complete schedule elsewhere in the Picayune. Jerald and Teri Gibson Todd are pleased to announce the arrival of their first born, a son, Jared Holden Todd. Jared was born Friday, March 10, 2000, at 1:52 a.m. at Baptist Medical Health Center in Little Rock. He weighed 9 pounds and measured 21> inches long. Grandparents are Jimmy Todd Jr. and the late Gayle Lavern Todd of Stephens and Leavel and Joyce Holden Gibson of Prescott. Great grandparents are Annie P. Fields of Stephens and Vert Lee Holden of Dumas. Morris Baptist Church will be having Thursday night singing starting at 7:00. There will be a meeting of the Southwest Arkansas Workforce investment board's by-law committee Thursday, March 23, at 9:00 a.m. at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.
