A debate has been scheduled among the four candidates running for the Fourth Congressional House of Representatives seat.

It will be held Thursday, March 30, in the Prescott High School auditorium at no cost to the public.

According to Mary Godwin, executive director of the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce, this is a joint effort between the Chamber and Nevada County Central Democratic Committee.

State Sen. Mike Ross, Bruce Harris, Judy Smith and Dwayne Graham are scheduled to attend.

The format, Godwin said, will have a moderator posing questions to the candidates. The audience will not be allowed to ask questions.

Each candidate will get to make opening and closing remarks. From there, the moderator will pick names to see who will be the first to answer a question.

The first candidate questioned will have three minutes to answer, with the others getting a minute-and-a-half for their response.

A reception will be held in the foyer at PHS following the debate. Refreshments will be served. At this time those attending can speak one-on-one with the candidates.

Godwin said this is a community service to let people get to meet the candidates.

For more information call Godwin at the Chamber at 887-2101, or Davis Benton, chairman of the Democratic Central Committee, at 887-2895.
