An argument led to a woman being cut with a knife Sunday afternoon in the Bodcaw area.

According to Wayne Kisselburg, criminal investigator with the Nevada County Sheriff's Office, the NCSO got a call around 6 p.m. Sunday from an Erika Dean, 29, saying she had been cut by her boyfriend, James Parmer, 30.

Kisselburg said Dean's ex-husband had arrived at her home with their children for a visit.

Parmer then allegedly grabbed a baseball bat and started swinging it. When Dean tried to stop him Parmer reportedly grabbed a steak knife and cut her along the lower right area of the abdomen, then left, carrying the bat.

Nevada County Sheriff Steve Otwell and Deputy Danny Miller arrived at the scene and learned Parmer had been spotted around some nearby chicken houses.

A search ensued with Parmer being found and arrested. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, both class D felonies, fleeing on foot and public intoxication.

During the altercation, Parmer hit Dean's ex-husband and a juvenile with the bat.

DRUG ARREST

Deputies arrested Roger Dale Waid, 35, of El Dorado, Sunday morning around 10 for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Officers asked and were given consent to search Waid's car and found an undetermined amount of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia.

Officers found a plastic sandwich type bag with some of the substance in it, along with several other bags containing the substance as well, stuffed inside the first bag.

He was charged with possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The incident is still under investigation.

STORE ROBBED

One suspect has been arrested in connection with the robbery of the Highway 67 Red-E-Mart convenience store.

The call came into the Prescott Police Department around 8:30 p.m. stating the store had been robbed.

According to Prescott Police Chief Sam Reeder, the clerk was struck in the head with some type of object.

The suspect then shoved her away, reached over the counter and grabbed the money from the cash register before leaving.

Reeder said through the investigation and a photo identification line up the suspect was named and arrested.

Willie Block, 19, of Prescott, was charged with aggravated robbery in the case. This is a class Y felony carrying a sentence of 10-40 years or life in prison.
